Shawls are not for grannies anymore. Any and everyone can wear a shawl not only to keep warm but as a fashion statement. Shawls don’t have to be boring and you can make one in any length by adding or deleting rows and adding embellishments.
With the Caron Cakes craze check out my post about the yarn here. I wanted to use one cake because some of the colors are hard to find and I also wanted something short that could be worn as a kerchief. The actual pattern is on Ravelry by Cre8tion Crochet called Shawl We? Lorene is one of my favorite top 2 crochet designers.
Caron Cakes are exclusively sold at Michaels. Premier also has one out now called Sweet Roll in 25 different colors and it’s 100% acrylic yarn unlike Caron Cakes that has some wool in it. Sweet Roll’s are sold at AC Moore at Joann’s now. After working with both yarns it’s hard to say which one I like best. They both serve my crocheting needs.
Let me know your thoughts on the Caron Cakes and Sweet Roll here and which one is your favorite in the comments.
