It’s that time where I can’t find anything to crochet or find something to make that will hold my attention. I’m not even interested in yarn sales either. I hope I’m not getting sick, lol. Seems like I’ve been in this situation before, hmmmm last year around this time…..
This must be my slow down time and recharge period 🙂
While I’m in this slump I’ve crocheted some random items.
I work in a school by day and I thought it would be cool to make some school themed items. This Hop on the Bus ,Gus! scarf jumped right on my hook. I even found my WIP of this project from a couple of years ago when I first started out. After crocheting a few rows I quickly remembered why I abandoned it in the first place. RANT TIME – I like crocheting in short rows not long rows, hence that’s why I don’t like making blankets.
Finishing a project was my main goal and I forced myself to continue. It turned out to be quite a fun project that worked up quickly. Not to much counting stitches and color changes. You can do so much with this design from adding letters to headlights.
What a great gift for Bus Driver Appreciation Day. It takes a real special person to drive school bus, kudos to you.
Since I was on a school theme check out the pencil scarf.
Start on a few of these now so you will be ready when the kiddos return to school. What I love about a scarf is you can make it as long or short as you want. Go crazy and make some for your whole family.
I’ve been on a dishcloth kick and I got bored of the regular rectangle dishcloths. The Little Quaker dishcloth gives me the chuckles. I had some left over bright yellow cotton yarn that came in handy. If I make this again I will add some feet.
Baby did someone say baby. OMG this Elephant Baby Hat and Diaper cover was such a delight to make. I can’t wait to see pictures of the little one who it was made for. Don’t be afraid and mix and match patterns.
I found this cute set in a box and I do not know about the pattern. I think I freehand the hat and no clue about the scarf. I may keep this set for myself.
I’m so proud that I’m actually using yarn in my stash. I was using these colors to make a make a bag that I lost interest in a long time ago. That’s one of the perks of crocheting, you can reuse the yarn. I used my imagination…
I freehand the cowl using the basket weave stitch and some double crochets.
This is what happens when boredom sets in. The intentions were to make a few more in bright colors but I only got around to making one. Just in case you are wondering, it’s a Bobble Bracelet
From the looks of things I don’t think I lost my crochet mojo.
What are some of the things you crochet in your down time?
